Good News

July 28, 2010

After a couple days spent at the pool and missing nap time, my daughter got back to her routine today. The morning was spent reading and playing. We also finished watching Horton Hears a Who after starting it the other day. Lunch went well, as did nap. It’s about time.

Good news today on the job front… I got a call for an interview for the position in Indiana. A third party is doing the interviewing, and I have successfully interviewed with her in the past. It should go well. Knock on wood!

I Have Had It Up to Here!

July 23, 2010

It’s 3:00 in the afternoon, and after a good morning, the little “angel” refuses to go to sleep. She is screaming her head off, and I need to get some work done. She’s just going to have to learn that she can’t always get it her way. I don’t like her to get so worked up, but I have a deadline to meet for a client. Let’s see if I can get four hours worth of work done in two.

Back to Normal

July 21, 2010

My mom has been visiting for the last week, but she left for home this morning. Life goes back to normal, at least the new normal. I am still a stay-at-home dad trying to make a go of my own business and take care of my family the best I can. I applied for jobs today in Florida and Virginia. Both are in my field and very attractive. No word yet on either of the last two positions I applied for. Hopefully I’ll hear something on those soon.

Good Weekend

July 12, 2010

We had a very good weekend. Lots of time was spent in the pool, as the weather here has been absolutely perfect for outdoor activities. The only problem with doing fun things in the morning and early afternoon is that it bumps up too close to my daughter’s nap time. This causes her to try to stay up with us instead of going to sleep. Lately this has been causing some extra strife in our house. Yesterday (Sunday) my wife went to put the little angel down while I caught up with some things I had been putting off. After finishing my things, I decided to go watch the World Cup™ Final game between Spain and The Netherlands (way to go Spain). About an hour into the game, I really started to wonder where my wife was. Did she come downstairs, is she working in her office upstairs, or is does she have her hands full with our daughter. I peaked upstairs and noticed our daughter’s door was still open, so I had a listen at the monitor. Silence! Was that good or bad? A while later, my wife came down and said that she had fallen asleep with our daughter. She was able to sneak out as the angel snoozed away. I guess that’s one way to get our daughter to nap.
